This is my first entry, and I have a headache, so it'll be a quickie. I'm only talking about food in this one.

Starbucks Iced Grande Nonfat Hazelnut Latte

Ordinarily, I get this drink with vanilla syrup instead of hazelnut. The other day I had something similar at a new branch of a local place with amaretto syrup, so I was still feeling adventurous. In the past, I've tried decreasing the amount of vanilla syrup or adding more expresso to my iced latte because I found the vanilla too sweet. I never found the right balance, but I think this hazelnut version might be perfect. It's sweet, but not nearly as sweet as the standard 5 (or modified 2 or 3) shots of vanilla. And replacing the overall sugary taste of the vanilla is the more complex taste of hazelnut, which I really think is a better complement to the coffee flavor.

Seeds of Change Frozen Vegetarian Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo

This is the second meal I've had from this line (the first was this). For some reason, Harris Teeter doesn't keep this where you'd expect them to. They have a Boca/Morningstar/Quorn section. Not too far from this is an Amy's section. A bit down from that is a section with some organic things, including Moosewood Entrées. And then around the corner near the 'really weird foods' section, I found these frozen meals. All the brands I just mention make only vegetarian foods, but the store doesn't group them together. Odd. At any rate, this meal was good. Very garlicky, which I love. However, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is new to/wary of fake meats. The 'chicken' is not very much like real chicken, though it's good. For a long-standing vegetarian, or an open-minded/not picky meat-eater, it's perfect. I will be buying this again. The portion size is good, perfect for lunch or a small dinner.
